ประกาศออกมาแล้วสำหรับเครื่อง PlayStation 5 รุ่นใหม่กับ PlayStation 5 Slim ซึ่งออกมาด้วยกันสองรุ่นก็คือรุ่นที่ใส่แผ่นได้ กับใส่แผ่นไม่ได้ โดยมีกำหนดวางจำหน่ายในช่วงเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2023 นี้ในอเมริกา และสำหรับประเทศญี่ปุ่นมีกำหนดวันขายชัดเจนแล้วคือวันที่ 10 พฤศจิกายน 2023 ส่วนประเทศอื่นจะมีการส่งขายหลังจากนั้น

โดยตัว PlayStation 5 Slim มีขนานที่เล็กลงกว่าเดิมถึง 30% น้ำหนักที่น้อยลง 18 เปอร์เซ็นต์ (สำหรับรุ่นใส่แผ่น) และ 24 เปอร์เซ็นต์ (สำหรับรุ่นไม่ใส่แผ่น Digital Edition) จุดเด่นของเกมนี้คือแผงฝาครอบที่แยกกันตัดกันตรงกลางแบ่งออกเป็นสี่ส่วน

สำหรับตัวเครื่องเวอร์ชันไม่ใส่แผ่น PlayStation 5 Digital Edition จะมีฟังชั่นในการเพิ่ม Disk Drive Ultra HD Blu-ray ที่สามารถซื้อแยกได้

รวมถึงยังมีขาตั้งแนวนอนแบบใหม่ ที่สามารถใช้ได้กับทุกรุ่น และสามารถซื้อแยกได้เช่นกัน
